Developing a psychohygienic work environment

February 12, 2020 by Martin |

Leaders and relationship coordination: I am more engaged in asking the question of why is it that as leaders we focus more attention on the “visibles” of organizational performance than the “Invisibles” of people and their need to be successful? Why haven’t we connected the dots of the Invisibles to the value of their loyalty to the organization? Why do we not spend the energy and our leadership forethought to create a positive, safe and healthy “psychohygienic” environment? Why do we not create strategies and tactics to bundle mutually reinforcing organizational practices that encourage spectacular internal relationships?

These relationships create healthy, safe and productive and meaningful workspaces. I think that organizational leaders in these times of volatility, chaos, uncertainty, and ambiguity have no other choice. Workplace meaning and purpose through relationship building increases organizational success. The very last two questions to consider are: What are your leadership blindspots that blind, blur, and create rationalizations which cause one to not pay attention to the true nature of your work relationships? What are your experiences in creating healthy work relationships?
