I wonder:I had a great conversation last night in a nursing leadership class on being a health leader. Their daily realities of health care gave me hope that their thinking of what their leadership could be: leader as convenor, leader as both student and teacher, leader as convenor of value-driven culture, leader as a relationship builder, leader as one who reduces suffering in a workplace, and most importantly leader seeking clarity regarding truly living their core values. As well, the significant question was what is the context for this Post-Covid “New Normal”? Should it be a courageous, compassionate, and core values-driven (authenticity) leader, first and foremost leading self, then leading others? My focus on knowing, mapping, and animating their individual values are all critical elements: STEP ONE of their personal leadership journey. We talked about the need for staff engagement regarding leader-organization values mapping. Thank you for our shared learning!
