Psychological Safety

March 1, 2022 by Martin |

It is quite interesting that in the past few weeks I have started conversations with a number of organizational leaders who are now admitting that their work environments may be psychologically unsafe for their employees.

I have a checklist of 20 questions that I use to help leaders begin to reflect on what psychological safety is in their context. I guide the discussion to enable the leaders to reflect and, perhaps identify how this process might benefit a staff conversation.

They have stories of where staff will not be willing to participate in some cultural “accelerators”, because they don’t want to be “put on the spot” by sharing their perspectives. I wonder how much of the covid thing is impacting staff because of their fears and general health and safety concerns. What are your experiences?
