I wonder: last night I made a presentation to a number of coaches in Montreal (next in London, U.K.) regarding how leaders in organizations could become more aware & accept that their brain-mind- body & specifically their autonomic nervous system creates their reality, & their lived leadership experiences. We explored that leaders can be more in control of their emotions prior to their thinking & behaviour being engaged. I think that their treatment of others & their decision-making could be more positively impacted. We played with the way to map our three states; Leaders could be more consciously aware of how they behave, act & interact with others. We know that we both unconsciously self-regulate & automatically co-regulate with others & either positively or negatively impact others’ feelings, emotions, thinking, behaviour & performance. Ultimately, their leadership role is directly impacted by these three states. To me this area of neurobiological leadership behaviour is such a large blind spot; Leader and their staff could co-regulate each other, if & when they would be open to “befriend, attend, shape, integrate and connect” by knowing their ANS map, to create such deep change. What do you think?
