This is a follow-up to my previous posts regarding toxic leadership and colluding followers. As the research regarding this topic is very compelling. In that regard, I have had numerous conversations with leaders and folks who are on boards of directors, and the questions that they are asking now are:
1- What if I found out and came to the realization that I am a toxic leader?
2- How would I know if this were true? Or
3 – As a follower of a toxic leader have I fallen into a number of traps and how do I liberate myself, and at what cost; and
4- How does this negatively impact the organization, the levels of employee engagement, and the negative impact on the execution of your organizational strategies and actions expected employees to deliver.
We know the costs per employee both for themselves and for their organization are incredibly high. In Canada, 60% of employees are disengaged.
